Start with fit
The best reason to use GMass is not “send more.” It is “turn a structured list into relevant one-to-one-style emails without copying, pasting and forgetting follow-ups.”
Candidate outreach, client prospecting, interview reminders and segmented follow-up from a Google Sheet.
Personalized lead check-ins, referral follow-up, listing updates and relationship campaigns from Gmail.
Prospect outreach that uses research columns instead of a generic blast sent to everyone.
A lighter workflow when a full sales-engagement platform would add more complexity than value.

Subject: Quick workflow idea for Northstar Search
Hi Morgan,
I noticed Northstar Search focuses on technical and leadership hiring.
GMass can turn a candidate or client list in Google Sheets into individualized Gmail outreach with one follow-up for people who do not reply.
Would a two-minute example be useful?
Best,
Daniel

Exact setup
This sequence is deliberately conservative. It gives you a clean place to catch broken merge fields, wrong sender addresses and bad list data before they become a live campaign problem.
Download starter CSVImport the CSV into Google Sheets, then save and use it as a real Google Sheet before connecting it to GMass.
Install the extension, sign in with the Gmail or Google Workspace account you want to use, then reload Gmail.
GMass adds campaign controls directly inside Gmail. You keep writing in the familiar Gmail compose window rather than moving every message into a separate sales platform.
Put column names in row 1 and one contact per row. Include an email column and the facts you want to personalize.
Use short, stable headers such as Email, FirstName, Company, PersonalLine and UseCase. GMass turns every column into a merge field. Do not rename the headers after connecting the Sheet.
Click the Sheets icon near Gmail search, select the file and worksheet, then connect it to the campaign.
GMass loads the recipients into one campaign alias and makes your column headers available as merge fields. You can also filter rows before connecting when only part of the Sheet should receive the campaign.
Use curly-brace fields such as {FirstName}, {Company} and {PersonalLine} in the subject or body.
The strongest personalization is not a name token. Use one verified fact or relevant reason for contacting the person, then connect it to a clear use case. Keep the email readable as plain text.
Choose the sending time, SMTP option if needed, tracking preferences and any automated follow-up stages.
For a first outreach test, a simple setup is easier to diagnose: a small batch, one short follow-up to people who did not reply, and no unnecessary formatting. Automated sequences require Premium or above on the current individual plans.
Use GMass Create Drafts or send to addresses you control before contacting the real list.
Check the From address, merge fields, links, signature, mobile layout and reply path. Test several mailbox providers when placement matters. A successful connection does not guarantee inbox placement.
Start with a limited batch and watch replies, bounces, blocks and opt-outs before increasing volume.
Do not judge the campaign by opens alone. The useful outcomes are qualified replies, completed actions and clean delivery. Pause when the data quality or message fit looks weak.
Your first Sheet
More columns do not automatically mean better personalization. Start with the minimum data required to make the message true, relevant and easy to review.
EmailThe recipient address GMass will use.
FirstNameA clean greeting field without extra spaces.
CompanyUseful in the subject and reason for contact.
PersonalLineOne verified observation, not a fabricated compliment.
UseCaseHow your offer connects to the recipient's real workflow.
StatusYour own control field: Ready, Review, Hold or DoNotContact.

The first campaign
Do not begin with every feature turned on. Start with a useful message, a small audience and one measurable outcome. Then add complexity only when the basic campaign works.
Initial email template
Replace every placeholder with a Sheet column or sender detail.

Would it be useful if I sent a short example?

This is a business promotion. If you would prefer no more emails, reply “no thanks.”One short follow-up
Recommended starting point: send only when there is no reply.
Hi {FirstName},
Just following up in case the workflow idea below is relevant for {Company}.
Happy to send a short example. If it is not useful, no problem — I will close the loop.
Best,
{SenderName}Start with enough recipients to test the workflow, not enough to hide mistakes in volume.
Give the reader one logical next step rather than several competing calls to action.
A short reply-style reminder after several business days is easier to evaluate than a long sequence.
Measure qualified replies and completed actions; opens alone are not a business result.
Deliverability reality
The tool can organize sending and provide diagnostics. It cannot make a poor list, misleading message or damaged sender reputation safe.
This page provides general workflow information, not legal advice. Rules differ by location and message type. For U.S. commercial email, review the FTC's current CAN-SPAM guidance before sending.
Current individual pricing
If automated follow-ups are central to the plan, Premium is the relevant starting point on the current individual pricing table. Standard is less expensive but does not include sequences and follow-ups.
Standard
$29.95/mo
or $249/year
Personalized Gmail mail merge without automated sequences
Automated sequences and follow-ups are not included.
Premium
$39.95/mo
or $349/year
Most small-business outreach and follow-up workflows
Inbox rotation through MultiSend is not included.
Professional
$59.95/mo
or $599/year
Advanced senders who need MultiSend inbox rotation
More capability than many first-time users need.
Start with the trial, then pay only when the workflow is proven.
The current trial lasts seven days and allows up to 50 messages per day. Provider pricing, plan features and limits can change.
Pricing checked October 8, 2026. “Unlimited emails” on the pricing page does not remove Gmail, SMTP-provider, anti-abuse or account-specific sending limits.
The decision in one minute
It is a strong fit for a person or small team that already works in Gmail, keeps contact data in Sheets and needs more structure than manual sending. It is a weaker fit when you need an entire lead database, dialer, complex CRM and multi-channel sales system in one product.

FAQ
Product features and pricing can change. The source links below point to GMass's own current documentation.
GMass is a Chrome extension that adds mail merge, scheduling, campaign reporting and automation features inside Gmail. It can connect a Google Sheet so each row becomes a personalized email.
GMass currently offers a seven-day trial with a 50-message-per-day limit. Continuing after the trial requires a paid plan. Pricing and limits can change, so confirm them on the official pricing page before subscribing.
On the current individual pricing table, automated sequences and follow-ups are included with Premium and Professional, not Standard.
Yes. Each Google Sheet column can become a merge field in the subject or body. GMass can also write reporting fields back to the Sheet when that option is enabled.
No tool can guarantee inbox placement. Sender reputation, authentication, list quality, message content, recipient behavior and mailbox-provider filtering all matter. GMass provides testing and deliverability tools, but the sending practices still matter.
Yes. GMass supports external SMTP connections. That can change how messages are sent, but it does not replace list hygiene, domain authentication or careful testing.
No. Common uses include recruiting, customer follow-up, event invitations, newsletters, fundraising, real estate communication, account updates and other legitimate mail-merge workflows.
Start with Email, FirstName, Company, PersonalLine, UseCase and Status. Add only columns that improve relevance or help control the workflow.
